Let’s create a paper doll based on your favorite fairy tale.

  • He or She should be a minimum of 8 inches tall.
  • Made of sturdy construction.
  • Do not just copy a page from the internet.
  • Materials your choice, paper, ribbons, cloth, etc.
  • Send to your partner on time.
  • Please rate your partner.
  • Your choice if it is jointed or not jointed.
  • Your choice if clothing is attached or not attached.
  • You must be in good standing with the group.

Just to make sure there are no requirement other than it has to be fairy tale related and 8 inches tall sturdy and no copies pages? . Therefor we can create our own template and clothing and or accessories if we would like? I have never traded dolls before but I love to make them!

I wish I felt more confident about my doll skills - I'm still a watching and learning kind of gal.... but someday I will be brave and join a doll swap!

Jailbird... check out some web sites for paperdolls... you can cut out a copy of a paper doll as a "template" or you can draw your own.. : D....but then just start adding clothing etc.. with paper..cloth,, lace.. in the theme of a fairy tale character.. :D

Is it a either/or situation?....If a jointed doll is sent is it necessary that clothing changes be sent as well..... Personally I am much more interested in the construction of the doll than the clothing.

I feel a cajun frog princess coming on! It will be in the image of my cajun grandmother who told me the fairy tale when I was a kid!

Your paper doll should be dressed so your partern has an idea what fairy tale is your favorite.. Feel free to also tell them because there are a zillion fair tales ... Joints.. your choice as to whether they are movable or not.. Clothing.. your choice as to whether they are attached to your doll or glued on permanently... Have fun.. :D

I guess I'm still not too clear on the "template". Can I take a photo of my daughter, print it out, and use her as my doll and then make fairy tale clothing for her?

Arabella.. a template is going to be just your reference or something you trace around for the shape you want to use. . You can print out a paper doll from a web site and trace around the body if you want.. Then create the fairy tale paper doll from that.. We just would not send our partner a web site paper doll without doing our creative work to make it our own Fairy Tale paper doll. A photo of your daughter would be fine.. and use her sweet little face would also be great.

see the first time I am swapping paper dolls and I have to send to the host (not that is I mind sending but it makes me nervous) I hope my dolls is good enough!
