Description:

Do you want to learn to use watercolors, or brush up your skills or are you a wonderful painter? Personally, I think, watercolors are scary LOL.... Let's learn or practice together!

This month, I want to share a bit of my hometown. Albuquerque is the hot air balloon capital of the world and each October the skies are full of vibrant colors. For more Balloon Fiesta info check out the official website. https://www.balloonfiesta.com

Join me:

  • Create one 4 x 6 postcard

  • Monthly design: Hot Air Balloons

  • Write a note to your partner

  • Mail your postcard

  • Sender's choice: colors and balloon postcard

  • Watch the tutorial, decide which postcard to create.

OPTION 1: Circle Balloon

OPTION 2: Hot Air Balloon (this is photo on the swap)

MAILING NOTE: Originally, I wanted the postcard mailed naked to save on postage. But because they are watercolors, the postcard may be destroyed if it gets wet. Sender's choice, to mail naked, in a plastic sleeve, an envelope or sealed with Dorland's Wax.

Please attach your card to backing to mail. Think: cereal box or similar cardboard thickness.

Recap:

  • Sender's choice for which image and colors to include

  • Create one 4 x 6 watercolor postcard

  • For this postcard, include a general hello greeting

  • Sign the back of your postcard and mail it

All skill levels encouraged

Newbies and international friends welcome!

TECHNIQUE TUTORIAL:

  • This tutorial explains several watercolor techniques: https://youtu.be/znHdmPL48fc?si=0H6OddUtbIUWW0U6

DORLAND'S WAX (suggestion only)

  • New product sold in a jar. Apply to your watercolor postcard, let cure for 48 hours and mail it away. Only purchase the small jar, a little goes a long way.

  • Thanks Lisa for suggesting Dorland's Wax!

Extras not necessary. Please rate a 5 if you receive a watercolor postcard which meets swap requirements. As usual hearts are up to you.

I will angel if necessary.

Thanks for taking a look at this swap! Have a great day.
