Description:

This swap is for three 4" x 6" doodle journal pages for one partner. Don't know what that means? Well, I'll tell you -- at least for the purposes of this swap! Buckle up, because we're getting serious, sarcastic, whimsical, brutally honest, and everything in between!

You will need 4" x 6" index cards, blank postcards, or pieces of paper cut to those dimensions. I suggest index cards, as I'll be hosting multiple rounds if people join and they are cheap.

You may also want something like a photo album to store the pages you receive, which can be purchased quite cheaply on Amazon. This option is $8.99, this is $14, and this set of 2 is just $9. (US links)

AS FOR THE PAGES YOU CREATE

Every page should be a journal entry. The intent is to express a random thought, a feeling you're experiencing, a general sentiment you'd like to make known, or an occurrence from your day (1 - 3 sentences) alongside a simple doodle (draw for ten minutes or less -- no talent is fine). Please color in your doodles and date the page. Leave the back of each blank.

Here are some examples of pages I sketched out while fleshing out the idea:

  • "You laugh because I'm different. That's rude. Buy me a Labubu and I won't tell your workplace about your hate speech incident." (Doodle of a Labubu doll)

  • "Categorically, today's bullshit is the same as yesterday's" (Doodle of pain scale)

  • "New doll day, because Marena the ice mermaid won't stress buy herself" (Doodle of doll)

  • "Any day I pet a dog is a day worth remembering" (Doodle of dog)

  • Beautiful afternoon reading at the park" (Doodle of book on park bench)

Don't worry about being witty. Any tone is welcome, though be mindul of the format's limitations and the journal's intent -- short, quick glances at thoughts or moments.

Remember, you will be making 3 separate 4" x 6" entries for one partner. You will have a week, but they can all be from the same day if you feel inspired or irresponsible.

You can use markers, crayons, colored pencils, etc -- really anything as long as it's HD/HP. This isn't one for stickers or digital art.

Rate a 5 if you get 3 pages that meet the rules, even if you don't like what they sent. Just don't add them to your journal.

Flakers and bad swappers will be dropped. I check 1's and 3's every time. Will angel if your partner flakes after failed communication with them.

Message me directly with any questions! Have fun and happy doodling~
