Send your partner a mascot for NaNo 2012. It could be something to put on the desk, or to attach to a laptop bag, or post on a wall. Maybe it's a stuffed animal or a keychain or a magnet or a mug or a dotee doll or anything else that seems appropriate. It can be anything that will represent a mascot to cheer your partner on as he/she pursues the goal of 50,000 words.

Include a note explaining why you selected the item you did.

Great idea :-) With any luck I'll be doing NaNoWriMo while finally moving into my new house with a new room for my computer. Such a new environment might make it hard to get into the groove so every little bit helps. Would love a new mascot of some sort to display on the table during write-ins in cafes or to put next to my computer at home. Or to clip onto my laptop bag strap! Happy writing!

All: Due to uncertainty with Hurricane Sandy, I have moved the mail by date back to Friday, Nov. 3. If you're in an area that is not affected by the storm, you can proceed as originally planned. But I've moved the date for those who may have issues -- like no power, etc.
