Description:

You know the tunes without words? They're called instrumental songs - and this is what this swap is about! You will create a CD with minimum 15 tracks of instrumental music (any genre).

THE RULES

  1. I'm sick of flakes. NO NEWBIES. Minimum 10 swaps under your belt that you have been rated for, and e-mail swaps DO NOT COUNT . No exceptions - I have been burnt too many times by newbies or some who have 3-4 successful swaps, and then get tired of it.
  2. You MUST have a minimum rating of 4.7 - I WILL be checking all profiles. Any '1's' on your rating will get you banned.
  3. This swap is INTERNATIONAL as it's cheap to send CD's just about anywhere.
  4. If you're going to be late with a swap, message your partners BEFORE deadline - it's called courtesy and consideration.

Hi! In response to your question : Does it have to be from 15 different artists? Well, generally, that's what I'd like to see : Some variety. I mean, say, 2 tracks from the same artist are ok, but I don't want someone simply copying a Vangelis CD or a classical CD - then why bother?

As swap coordinator, what is your opinion in regards to ... a limited number of vocal samples integrated into the instrumental ... Herbie Hancock's "Rockit", for instance? Allowable? Or is that distorting the swap?

Oftentimes in the hip-hop instrumental genre, samples are an inherent part of the song, though they are secondary to the instrumental flow. It's your swap, so I'd like to respect your input as much as possible.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to your message, Ryan, it's easier to message me directly for a faster response. However, in answer to your questions : Use your own best judgement. Listen to a true instrument, like say, Robert Miles 'Children' or Vangelis 'Chariots of Fire' or Joe Satriani's 'Surfin With The Alien' and then listen to the track you want to put on, and see whether or not it is vastly different from what a true instrumental is. If it is, then it's probably not an instrumental.
