I read yours and wondered since you like paper crafts if you've ever made hand made envelopes--it's something I've started doing here and really like it a lot. There are swaps for them (recent one 5 envies to each of your 3 partners). It's a good way to recycle calendar pages or you can use scrapbook pages too.
